ArmInfo. Passengers of the bus detained at the Upper Lars checkpoint this morning continue to remain on the Russian-Georgian border. The press service of the Armenian Embassy in Georgia reports.
"The diplomats of the Armenian embassy went to the checkpoint in order to familiarize themselves with the situation on the spot and provide passengers with food and basic necessities. Another carrier bus is already on its way to the Upper Lars checkpoint and will soon transfer passengers to Armenia," the Armenian embassy said.
Meanwhile, according to a number of media reports, the reason for the bus's detention is the discovery of drugs in it.
Earlier, ArmInfo reported that today at 06:00 a bus of an Armenian air carrier was detained at the Upper Lars checkpoint due to transportation of forbidden cargo. The bus belonging to Avazar Bus, which left Moscow on June 22, has 48 passengers, including 13 children.
