Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin has all rights to meet with those whom he considers necessary, especially with the person who made a huge contribution to Armenian-Russian relations. The press secretary of the Republican Party, Eduard Sharmazanov, said this at a press conference on June 24, commenting on the meeting of the Russian Ambassador with the second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, who is under investigation.
He noted that the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Grigor Hovhannisyan stated in the parliament that there was nothing illegal in the actions of the Ambassador. "After it became known that Kopyrkin was invited to the RA Foreign Ministry for clarification in connection with the meeting with Kocharyan. The actions and statements of the RA Foreign Ministry diverge," Sharmazanov stressed.
