"Armenia's society should be free from violence, in which issues are resolved without thoughts of violence and without propaganda of violence. We consistently implement and will implement this goal every day", Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on June 21, speaking at a festive event dedicated to the Day of the Formation of Police Troops.
As Pashinyan noted, the question of what has changed in Armenia over the past year has a very specific answer in the Police Troops as well. "For almost a year, these units are on alert on the Armenian- Azerbaijani border, ensuring the safety of civilians. On this festive day, I first of all want to thank the Police Forces, those who have voluntarily devoted themselves to defending the borders of the Motherland. I express gratefulness to the families of military personnel who support police officers traveling to the border. The decision to involve the Police Troops in guarding the external borders of Armenia reflects our ideas about both the country's external and internal security, "the head of government said. The Prime Minister stressed that in protecting the external security of Armenia, the Armenian people should be united. Representation of the internal security of Armenia is also associated with this idea, since the Police Troops are designed to prevent any manifestations of violence inside the country, he noted. According to Pashinyan, some try to interpret the boundless desire to create an atmosphere of love and solidarity of the new Armenian government as weakness. "I want to clearly state that no one has any illusions that the RA government may show timidity or lack of will in protecting the constitutional order, rights and freedoms of citizens, democracy.
Our will will be unshakable, we will not hesitate to deterring those who try to revive propaganda of violence, " Nikol Pashinyan said. Similar views, as the Prime Minister pointed out, also have power with regard to the protection of Artsakh's borders. Armenia, he said, is a supporter of establishing a durable and stable peace in the region. At the same time, Nikol Pashinyan urged certain forces to refrain from attempts to interpret this desire as a manifestation of weakness. "They will receive a decisive counter-strike of our collective will, strength. And this counter-strike will also be given by those representatives of the Police, who stand on positions to protect the security of the Armenian people. No enemy can shake our unity. All internal and external enemies of Armenia will face an unconditional defeat," Nikol Pashinyan added. The Prime Minister was presented with the technical equipment of the Armenian Police forces, types of armaments and the capabilities of the Police forces.
