ArmInfo. The first conference on cooperation between the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) and the European Union was held on June 18 in Brussels. The press service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia reports.
Head of the Department of Multilateral and Bilateral Economic Cooperation of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia Ashot Kocharian noted in his speech that Armenia continues to actively participate in various international multilateral formats, in particular, stressing the commitment of the Armenian government to the development of the economic component of BSEC. It was stressed that, being a member of the Eurasian Economic Union, Armenia is simultaneously effectively developing multi-faceted cooperation with the EU, including on the basis of the Agreement on a Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership between the RA and the EU. In his speech, Ashot Kocharian stressed the need for Armenia's participation in the development of ecosystems in the Black Sea region as a landlocked country.
Ashot Kocharyan reminded that the Republic of Armenia has repeatedly declared its determination to prevent the attempts of some BSEC Member States to politicize this economic structure. In this context, Ashot Kocharyan added that the current forum is not a platform for discussing conflicts, and at the same time noted that Azerbaijan again distorts the essence of the Karabakh conflict, its causes and circumstances, trying to avoid responsibility for its destructive policy through unfounded accusations against Armenia.
