ArmInfo. The Arms purchase and modernization process continues. The press secretary of the Minister of Defense of Armenia Artsrun Hovhannisyan stated this on June 13 in an interview with journalists.
The spokesman stressed that the issue of the purchase of Russian weapons was discussed during the last meeting of the leaders of Russia and Armenia. "The purchase of weapons is quite a long and very complicated process, it is impossible to solve it promptly," the spokesman stressed.
"We intend to continue replenishing our weapons with new types. We need new generation weapons that will be multifunctional, ultra-precise and high-quality," Hovhannisyan stressed.
Armenia has already received several Russian weapons consignment under two preferential credit programs with Russia worth $ 300 million.
