ArmInfo. Armenia, given the friendly and allied nature of our relations, has a special place among Russia's foreign policy partners. Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin said this on June 12 at a reception on the occasion of the Day of Russia.

The Russian diplomat stressed that being closely connected not only by geographical location, but also by a common history, our states and nations are loyal to the glorious tradition of good-neighborliness. "One of these key unifying events was participation in the Great Patriotic War, in which the Russians and Armenians, together with representatives of other republics of the Soviet Union, jointly fought back the most terrible threat and for all the existence of mankind, providing peace for our planet for many years. It is gratifying that at the present stage, cooperation between Russia and Armenia is developing not only on the bilateral track, but also in a wider context, within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, in the year of the five-year anniversary of which Yerevan took the chairmanship of it.  "I would like to note the successful holding of a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council here at the end of April. We are now actively preparing for holding a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council," the ambassador said.

At the same time, Kopyrkin assured that he was sincerely happy to celebrate this holiday with real friends.  "Being the Russian ambassador to Armenia, I consider my main task, first of all, the further strengthening and deepening of Russian-Armenian allied relations, the expansion of economic, military-political and cultural-humanitarian ties, assistance in revealing the potential and strengthening the role of Armenia in the EAEU, CSTO, CIS. I am sure that cooperation between Russia and Armenia, which affects almost all fields of state and society's activities, will grow stronger day by day, remaining a solid basis for the peace and well-being of our peoples, "the head of the Russian diplomatic mission emphasized.

At the same time, he noted that Russia is a country with a thousand-year history, a huge territory, a unique natural and spiritual wealth, a country that unites many peoples, cultures and religious confessions within a single state. "Today we live in a free, strong, truly great country. Its power is in unity. Living in harmony, respecting the views and shrines of our neighbors, carefully keeping our common home and working honestly is the key to prosperity in Russia. This holiday, despite being a young one, firmly entered not only in the official calendar of solemn dates, but also in the hearts of all who proudly call themselves Russian.Our country went through a difficult and heroic way of establishment  and development.This day is an occasion to recall the deeds of our fathers and grandfathers, an occasion to think about the present and the future of the Fatherland, about our duty to future generations about what we have done and what remains to be done so that tomorrow will be bright and joyful, "said Kopyrkin, and in this context he added that it is necessary to carefully keep an ongoing relationship from time to time, honor the traditions and testaments of their ancestors, love Russia and work honestly for the sake of well-being and prosperity.  According to the Ambassador, today Russia is a key player in the international arena, without which it is impossible to solve many world problems, to cope with new challenges and threats to international security.  In conclusion, Kopyrkin stressed that Russia is ready for constructive dialogue and the development of trustful and fruitful contacts with all responsible participants of international relations on the principles of equal rights and mutual respect.
