Mher Grigoryan and Swedish Ambassador to Armenia discussed  cooperation prospects

ArmInfo.On May 22, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received the ambassador of Sweden to Armenia Ulrik Tidestrom and Deputy Director of the Department for European and Latin American Issues of the Swedish International  Development Cooperation Agency Deputy Director of the Department for  European and Latin American Issues of the Swedish International  Development Cooperation Agency Christina Hartler. It is reported by  the press service of the government.

According to the source, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed his  gratitude for the readiness of Sweden to develop bilateral relations  with Armenia. Grigoryan noted that any possibility of deepening  relations with such a partner as Sweden is highly appreciated by the  Armenian government. The Deputy Prime Minister touched upon  cooperation with the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank  and briefly informed about government priorities and reforms in the  country.

Grigoryan expressed confidence that reforms in the country's judicial  system, as well as measures aimed at strengthening and developing  democratic institutions, are priorities.

In turn, Ambassador Ulrik Tidestrom handed over the floor to the  Deputy Director for European and Latin American Affairs.

The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Deputy  Director of the Department for European and Latin American Issues of  the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency Christina  Hartler, who spoke about the agency's goals and three main areas of  assistance programs for environmental protection, democracy and  economic development.

The Deputy Prime Minister spoke about the problems existing in  Armenia in the three directions mentioned and about the planned  reforms to solve them, within which cooperation with the Swedish  International Development Cooperation Agency can develop.

Mher Grigoryan spoke about the importance of the Comprehensive and  Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the EU for Armenia  and informed the guests that the roadmap for the implementation of  the agreement will be approved soon. The participants of the meeting  spoke about the opportunities and prospects for the development of  Armenian-Swedish bilateral cooperation, expressing the hope that  today's meeting will be another important step for the further  expansion of relations.
