ArmInfo.Representatives of the Prosperous Armenia Party consider that the blockade of the buildings of the courts is a blow to the country's international reputation, evidenced by the criticism of international organizations against the RA authorities. Naira Zohrabyan, a deputy from the Prosperous Armenia faction, said this on May 21 in an interview with journalists, commenting on the Prime Minister's appeal yesterday to block all entrances and exits to the courts.
She noted that it is not a secret to anyone that the judicial system of Armenia needs reforms, and there were many rational thoughts in Pashinyan's speech, however, blocking the work of the courts and this anti- constitutional appeal are unacceptable. Zohrabyan also stressed that she was shocked by the inactivity of the Police, which did not respond in any way to cases of violence against judges who tried to somehow get into the blocked courts. Touching upon the statement of the President of Armenia Armen Sargsyan about the current situation, Zohrabyan noted that the statement of the security guarantor was faded and impersonal. "It is a pity that the President of Armenia does not fulfill his powers as a guarantor of the Constitution. Armen Sargsyan should have declared that these actions are unconstitutional. No government has the right to interfere in the activities of the courts," Zograbyan concluded.
