ArmInfo. The Heritage Party made a statement regarding the latest trials in the country related to the activities of the judicial system.
The party, in particular, believes that reforms in the judicial system are the imperative of the time. However, as stated in the statement, the authorities put their political interests above this important process.
"Leading unpromising and dangerous actions to block the buildings of the courts, and not having received public support in this matter, Pashinyan said he is beginning to introduce transitional justice mechanisms, and is even ready on this path to constitutional changes," the statement said.
The Heritage Party expresses bewilderment over the fact that Pashinyan did not implement these reforms during the year he was in the premiership. "And now he is making an attempt to take individual decisions, without broad socio-political consultations, which is fraught with threats," the statement said.
"Heritage" is convinced that through steps and slogans that have dubious legality it is impossible to introduce transitional justice mechanisms through street fighting. "For their successful launch, social and political involvement and solidarity are imperative," the statement said.
The party calls on the Prime Minister to refrain from adventurous steps that threaten the international prestige of the Republic of Armenia as a democratic and legal state.
"We expect the organization of discussions with parliamentary and extra-parliamentary political and public forces, in order to exclude by law the return of the old forces and all possible attempts to overthrow the constitutional system," the party said in a statement.
