ArmInfo. The court of general jurisdiction of Yerevan, chaired by Judge David Grigoryan, changed the measure of restraint against the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, accused of overthrowing the constitutional order, from arrest to release on personal bail.
To note, the two presidents of Artsakh, Arkady Ghukasyan, and the current president, Bako Sahakyan, personally stood as guarantors for Kocharyan, who specifically came from Stepanakert to Yerevan to secure the guarantee with their signatures.
Kocharyan's supporters in the courtroom applauded and cheers of "Hooray" were voiced with the judge's statement about changing the measure of restraint, without hearing it out to the end. Meanwhile, in front of the court building, there are two actions at once - supporters and opponents of Kocharyan have gathered.
To recall, yesterday Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that he does not see any problem in the guarantee of the two presidents of Artsakh for Kocharyan fromthe moral point of view, but from a political point of view, there are some questions: .
The prosecution stated, however, that it considers the arrest a reasonable preventive measure for Kocharyan.
Today, one of the MPs from the ruling bloc Hayk Sargsyan on his Facebook page wrote that the judge is under pressure, as a result of which he will replace the measure of restraint to Kocharyan. To prevent this, the MP called on the people to gather in front of the court building. Currently, Kocharyan's lawyer Hayk Alumyan traveled to Yerevan Penitentiary Center to meet the second president.
