The head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry did not miss the  opportunity to once again accuse Armenia of occupying Azerbaijani  territories, forgetting to point out that it was the Azerbaijani  armed forces that unleashed the war in Nagorno-Karabakh and assured  that these actions of the Armenian side impede the transition to a  higher level of cooperation. "If we are moving through the Eastern  Partnership, then in order to achieve the objectives of the European  Neighborhood Policy, issues to resolve the conflict and end the  occupation should be resolved. As stated in the resolution adopted by  the European Parliament in October 2013, one EU partner cannot occupy  the territory of another partner. Thus , everything is called by its  own name not only in the UN Security Council documents, the UN  Charter and the OSCE, but also the EU legislative structure, "he  stressed.

At the same time, he expressed the conviction that the future and  success of the Eastern Partnership depend precisely on security and  the preservation of stability in the region. "Therefore, all parties  involved in the Eastern Partnership, including the EU and its  members, must fully support and observe the principles of  inviolability of internationally recognized borders and territorial  integrity. This position must be respected at all levels and in all  documents of all formats, and this approach be chosen as the main  criterion ", - Mammadyarov concluded.
