ArmInfo.Cooperation with its immediate neighbors - Georgia and Iran - has been and continues to be among the priorities of Armenia's foreign policy. Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said this in an interview with ArmNews.
According to him, cooperation with Iran and Georgia play an important role from the point of view of strategic security of Armenia. "The following approach has been formed in the government's program: to try to keep these relations from the influence of various geopolitical processes. It is this approach that underlies our relations with these countries," said Mnatsakanyan, while pointing out serious dynamics and progress in relations with Georgia and with Iran. According to him, a rather complicated process is to develop relations proceeding from the direct national interests of Armenia, trying to refrain from the influence of geopolitical processes and various pressures in this regard.
At the same time, the Foreign Minister is convinced that in recent years Armenia has managed to ensure the natural development of these relations. "Naturally, this is primarily related to infrastructure and logistics, allowing access to other markets. Naturally there are many problems and issues, but the ability to work and find solutions is very important, and I think we are working well in this direction," he said.
