ArmInfo. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent a message to the vicar of the Patriarch of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Istanbul, Aram Ateshyan, in connection with the events of 1915.
"I honor the memory of the Armenians of Ottoman Empire, who died in the harsh conditions of the First World War," the message of the Turkish leader, quoted by Turkish media, reads.
At the same time, Erdogan, in his letter to Ateshyan, assured that the Armenian community of Turkey made a significant contribution to the development of the country both during the Ottoman rule and after the declaration of the Turkish Republic.
