ArmInfo. Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan presented yesterday the new chairman of the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition Gegham Gevorgyan.
According to the press service of the RA government, congratulating and wishing the newly elected chairman of the commission success, Tigran Avinyan noted that the government chose a course for the formation of a free competitive economic field, and the role of the Commission is significant in this matter. The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the executive body will be standing next to the steps aimed at establishing an independent and impartial body. In response, Gegham Gevorgyan, expressing gratitude for the trust, noted that the commission would do everything in its power to establish a free competitive field. The former head of the commission, Artak Shaboyan, expressed his gratitude to the members of the commission and the staff for effective joint work.
To recall, on April 22, following the results of voting in the National Assembly of Armenia on the issue of electing the chairman of the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition, Gegham Gevorgyan was elected Chairman of the Commission. Chairman of the Counting Commission of the Parliament of Armenia Vahagn Hovakimian reported that 121 lawmakers took part in the voting. Gegham Gevorgyan was elected by 95 votes "for", 26 "against."
