ArmInfo. I think it was worth allocating 124 million drams for the celebration of Citizen's Day. The speaker of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan said this on April 22 in the Armenian parliament.
He noted that Citizen's Day is intended to give society a civic education, to formulate its consciousness, therefore, for this noble purpose it is justified to allocate money. "Before and after the revolution, the most clearly manifested problem is the lack of a value system. After all, several years before the revolution, we were talking about a revolution in the field of values, and now the citizen's holiday is also called upon to play a certain role in civic education, to educate citizens, to form after all, this institution ", Mirzoyan said. The chairman of parliament noted that the citizen's holiday proves that the velvet revolution does not and did not have one owner. "A revolution is a revival and victory of a citizen. A lot of problems have accumulated in the country: corruption, gross violation of the law, and we have repeatedly noted that the problem is that people and authorities live in parallel realities. But citizens decided to put an end to this", - stressed the speaker.
Commenting on the fact that there are still many social problems in Armenia, the speaker said: "In all countries there are issues that should be paid more attention, but it's not too reasonable to deal with them alone paying no attention to other programs", concluded Mirzoyan.
To note, recently the government decided to allocate 124 million drams for the celebration of Citizen's Day. The Citizen's Day will be celebrated on Saturday of the last week of April.
