ArmInfo.American congress member of Turkish origin Gerry Connolly (Democrat, Virginia), who arrived in Armenia as part of the delegation of the US Congress also visited the memorial complex of the victims of the Armenian Genocide "Tsitsernakaberd" and paid tribute to the memory of the holy martyrs.
This is reported by the Armenian National Congress of America. The organization notes that this happens for the first time in history. However, the Organization expressed the hope that Connolly's visit to Tsitsernakaberd would mark the beginning of the end of the policy of denial, including in the US Congress.
As ArmInfo reported earlier, on April 17, a delegation of US congress representatives visiting Armenia visited the Tsitsernakaberd memorial complex of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. Members of the delegation paid tribute to the memory of the holy martyrs, laid flowers at the eternal flame. After the flower-laying ceremony, congressmen visited the Armenian Genocide Museum.
