ArmInfo.Exclusive relations have developed between Armenia and France, which cover a wide range of issues in the political, economic, cultural and educational spheres. The Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said this in an interview with the French Le Figaro.
He stated that this was already his third meeting with French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian. At the same time, he recalled that French President Emmanuel Macron visited Yerevan last October and took part in the 17th OIF summit.
"In addition, France is one of the most important members of the European Union, with which Armenia in 2017 concluded an agreement on a comprehensive and expanded partnership. This visit to France is an additional contribution to the solid architecture of our bilateral relations," the Armenian Foreign Minister stressed. Touching on the priorities of Armenia after the velvet revolution, Mnatsakanyan noted that among them cooperation with Europe, the rule of law, justice, the fight against corruption are all the reforms for which the people gave the mandate to the new authorities.
"I would also point out tax reforms and the economy. Armenia has a serious potential. The reasons for our velvet revolution were internal, not geopolitical. We are pro-Armenian, not pro-European, pro-American or pro-Russian, even if we work closely with Russia," Mnatsakanyan concluded.
