ArmInfo.Today, the working visit of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Strasbourg began.
The first meeting of Prime Minister Pashinyan was held with President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Lilian Mori Pasquier.
During the meeting, Mori-Pasquier expressed satisfaction with her visit to Armenia at the end of March, during which she held productive meetings and discussions with senior management of the RA, spoke at the National Assembly and took part in the opening of <European Square> in Yerevan. She noted that the statement by the Prime Minister of Armenia at the the spring session of the PACE, the official opening of the exhibition called "Velvet Revolution" testifies to the fruitful process of Armenia-CE partnership and bilateral readiness to deepen it.
The Prime Minister stressed that Armenia is a full member of the CE and PACE, and expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the Council of Europe, the high level of which was confirmed by the results of the visits of the PACE President and co-rapporteurs of the organization to Armenia, as well as the assessments of the democratic situation in the report.
The interlocutors discussed prospects for the development of cooperation between Armenia and the Council of Europe. The PACE President welcomed the implementation of democratic changes in our country and reaffirmed her readiness to assist Armenia in protecting human rights, developing democracy and strengthening the rule of law.
The sides also touched upon the negotiation process on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
