ArmInfo. The speech of the transgender in the parliament was a provocation directed not against the "My Step" bloc, as its leader, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan considers, but against the "Prosperous Armenia" party.
The head of the Prosperous Armenia Party, MP, businessman Gagik Tsarukyan stated this in an interview with the Kentron TV channel. He noted that the Prime Minister could reveal the names of these provocateurs. "The Prime Minister has all the opportunities and levers to disclose their names. If he gives an order, within two hours their names will be revealed, and we will be very grateful, and people will find out who actually was a provocateur," said Tsarukyan.
To note, the speech from the tribune of the Armenian parliament by transgender Lilit Martirosyan caused a rapid public response in Armenia. The society was divided into two camps - those who do not see anything reprehensible in this speech, and those who consider it unacceptable. On Monday, in front of the Armenian parliament building, a protest rally was held in defense of family values, the organizers and participants of which sharply condemned Martirosyan's speech in parliament. "My step" and "Prosperous Armenia" factions tried to throw at each other the responsibility for inviting the transgender to the parliamentary hearings. The head of the commission on human rights issues, Naira Zohrabyan, who presided over the transgender's speech, sharply asked her (him) to leave the hall, said that Lilit Martirosyan was invited to the hearing by the MP from the My Step bloc Maria Karapetyan. Karapetyan and her party members headed by Nikol Pashinyan assured that the lists of the participants were presented to Naira Zohrabyan herself and she was the one who signed them. Pashinyan also raised the question of the revocation of Zohrabyan from the post of head of the commission on human rights issues, since her reaction to the speech of the transgender person is incompatible with the reaction of the official, heading the committee.
