ArmInfo. A criminal case has been initiated in the Prosecutor's Office of Armenia over the sale of public territory in 2008 in the Davitashen administrative district at a price lower than the market price.
According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, on October 6, 2008, according to the protocol on the privatization auction and the decision of the head of the administrative district of Davitashen, the territory that is the property of the district, which is 845.7 square meters, was alienated according to the auction agreement at 33.000 drams per 1 sq. m, which is much lower than the market value of the total territory in 2008 by 18.000.000 drams.
In fact, the Prosecutor's Office opened a criminal case under Article 308 of the RA Criminal Code (Abuse of office).
To note, until May 2008, the Davitashen community was headed by Suren Ghukasyan, and since May the son-in-law of the former head of the RA Police Artur Gevorgyan, who later became an MP from the former ruling Republican Party.
