ArmInfo.Armenian President Armen Sargsyan took part in the traditional "Taste of France" dinner, which this year was organized in Gyumri.
The French cuisine, which is considered to be part of the intangible heritage of UNESCO, was presented at a solemn event at the center "The Virgin of Armenia" in Gyumri with the participation of statesmen, diplomats, artists, culture, entrepreneurs. French Ambassador to RA Jonathan Lakot thanked the President of the Republic of Armenia for participating in the event. He also noted that the organization of the event this year in Gyumri symbolizes the revival of the city.In turn, the president welcomed the holding of this event in Gyumri, stressing that the place was chosen very correctly.
"I think we laid the foundation for a wonderful tradition. I am very pleased that the taste of food and culture in Armenia is associated with France and with Gyumri," the President said.Sargsyan called on the ambassadors of foreign countries participating in the event to organize similar presentations of the national cuisines of their countries. "If my diplomatic friends continue the tradition and organize such events here in Gyumri. I will be happy to take part in them," the president said.At the same time, the president indicated that it was necessary to hold these events in Gyumri with the participation of people willing to invest in the development of the city as an obligatory condition. Sargsyan also proposed to hold an annual festival called Taste of Armenia.
