ArmInfo.Armenian Ambassador to Lithuania Tigran Mkrtchyan in Vilnius took part in the "10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership: what happened and what to expect " forum.
The press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo that during his speech Mkrtchyan touched upon the prospects for cooperation with the European Union under the Eastern Partnership program, highly appreciated the role of the opportunities provided by the EU, and in particular with the EaP tools in implementing reforms in various fields in Armenia.
Highlighting the importance of starting a dialogue with the EU on the liberalization of the visa regime, the Armenian diplomat expressed hope that the reform agenda, carried out on a large scale by the Armenian government, will have a positive impact on this issue. At the same time, he stressed that both Lithuania and other Baltic countries unequivocally assist Armenia in this matter. Mkrtchyan also spoke about the signed agreement on a comprehensive and expanded Armenia- EU partnership, calling it an important achievement in the framework of the EaP program. The Armenian Ambassador thanked the Baltic countries that were the first to ratify this agreement, stressing the importance of ratification of the document by all EU member states. As part of the Romanian presidency of the Council of the European Union, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania Danut Sebastian Neculaescu spoke at the forum, who presented Romania's priorities in the EU Council, stressed the importance of the Eastern Partnership as a platform for cooperation with the European Union and the Member States of the Organization, while He highly appreciated the ongoing democratic processes and reforms undertaken by the government of Prime Minister Pashinyan in Armenia.
