ArmInfo.Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan held talks with a delegation led by Peter Eriksson, Minister for International Development Cooperation. The press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo that at the meeting the sides called the existing level of dialogue between the two countries valuable and reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation both bilaterally and multilaterally. The ministers paid special attention to organizing high-level visits.
Mnatsakanyan touched upon the recent internal political processes in Armenia and the reforms initiated by the new government on the basis of a broad mandate received from the people and aimed at strengthening democracy, human rights and the rule of law in the country. As a priority of the government, the Armenian minister pointed to the creation of favorable conditions for the economic revolution based on high technologies and innovations.
Mnatsakanyan spoke about the preparations for the upcoming IT forum in Yerevan on October 23 and expressed the hope that the Swedish side will take an active part in this event.
The meeting agenda also included issues related to the prospects for cooperation in the environmental field and in the field of alternative energy, an exchange of views on the Armenia-EU partnership agenda was held.
In this context, Mnatsakanyan stated that the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership is a good occasion to capture the achievements and outline the outline of further activities, paying special attention to youth and innovations. Presenting the priorities of foreign policy, the head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry spoke about the approaches and positions of Armenia on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
