ArmInfo. The Sasna Tsrer party considers the concept of former Minister of Defense of Artsakh Samvel Babayan to give Russia a mandate regarding Artsakh as a solution to the Karabakh problem as "treacherous".
As stated in the statement of the party, thus, an attempt is being made to put an equal sign between the Karabakh, Abkhaz, South Ossetian, Transnistrian and Crimean conflicts. The party believes that the implementation of such a model is fraught with serious threats, up to the transfer of Artsakh by Russia to Azerbaijan.
According to the statement, this project fits in with the recent processes for the revitalization of Russia in the region and the complete ousting of the West from the Karabakh settlement process. "Russia, as a co- chair country of the OSCE Minsk Group, cannot directly and openly take a position that differs from the unified position of the MG, therefore it implements its program through indirect and indirect steps," the statement reads.
The party stresses that the mandate of Artsakh in the Karabakh settlement belongs only to Armenia. "It is necessary to understand once and for all that the future of the two Armenian republics in consolidation into a single state", the statement says.
To note, the former Minister of Defense of Artsakh Samvel Babayan recently made a proposal to present Russia with a mandate regarding Artsakh, that is, to recognize the subjectivity of Artsakh towards Russia. This proposal caused outrage of the political forces of Artsakh.
