The chairman of the Bundestag noted that Germany was inspired by the velvetrevolution in Armenia in April-May 2018. He noted that suchthere was no revolution in the world.Expressing gratitude for the reception, Ararat Mirzoyan noted that this is his first official visit to Europe as the NA Speaker.
The head of the parliament presented to his German colleague the motives of the revolution in Armenia, the subsequent period and the extraordinary parliamentary elections held in December last year, which were awarded the highest rating by international observers.The head of the legislative body, assessing the German parliamentary tradition, noted that the experience of the Bundestag can be very useful for the National Assembly of Armenia. In this regard, the parties agreed on frequent visits by both parliamentarians and parliamentary administrations.During the conversation, members of the Armenian delegation and Wolfgang Schauble discussed a number of issues relating to the Armenian-German agenda, ratification of the Armenia-EU agreement, liberalization of the visa regime, assistance of European countries in developing infrastructure in Armenia.Touching upon the existing cultural and educational ties between Armenia and Germany, the NA President invited the German colleagues to consider the creation of an Armenian-German university in the country, which will further deepen relations between the citizens of the two countries.Ararat Mirzoyan and Wolfgang Schauble agreed to continue a constructive dialogue and discuss issues of mutual interest.
