ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign Minister Secretary General Vahagn Melikyan held talks with Secretary General on Economic Affairs of the Greek Foreign Ministry Ioannis Brachos.
As the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo, Melikyan stressed that Armenia attaches importance to deepening and expanding relations between Armenia and Greece, which have a long history.
In turn, the Greek diplomat assured that in his country the interstate relations between Armenia and Greece, based on mutual respect and trust, are highly appreciated, adding that in Athens they want to develop comprehensive cooperation wherever possible.
The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the level of development of relations between the two countries.
Brachos presented the details of the Armenian-Greek business forum, scheduled for March 18-20 in Yerevan, stressing the importance of holding a meeting of the Armenian-Greek intergovernmental commission before the end of this year in Yerevan. Meanwhile, Melikyan proposed to take practical steps to intensify bilateral economic contacts by offering each other specific proposals and mutually beneficial investment projects. The parties stressed the importance of sectoral cooperation, considering cooperation in the energy, agricultural and tourism sectors realistic. The interlocutors touched upon Armenia-EU cooperation, as well as strengthening cooperation at multilateral platforms, exchanged views on topical regional and international issues.
