ArmInfo. The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia in the Czech Republic, Ashod Hovakimyan, met with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic for Europe, Ales Chmelar.
The press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo that the Czech diplomat highly appreciated the level of Armenian-Czech relations, touched upon their activity and versatility, stressing the importance of deepening cooperation between the two countries in the political and economic fields.In turn, Hovakimyan spoke about the steps taken by the RA Embassy to develop bilateral cooperation, presented the reforms implemented in Armenia, the foreign policy priorities of the RA, the latest processes around the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, explaining the position of the RA.
The Armenian diplomat paid special attention to relations with the European Union, stressing the importance of accelerating the process of ratification by the Czech parliament of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enlarged Partnership Agreement (CEPA), as well as the start of negotiations on visa liberalization between Yerevan and Brussels.The interlocutors discussed the calendar of mutual visits at a high level, and also touched upon the anniversary meeting of the EU Eastern Partnership member countries, which will be held in Prague on April 16-17 and will be devoted to economic issues.
