ArmInfo.The newly appointed Ambassador of Armenia to the Czech Republic, Ashot Hovakimyan, was received by the Czech-Armenia Friendship Group at the Czech Chamber of Deputies.The press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo that at the meeting Hovakimyan expressed gratitude for the adoption by the Czech parliament of the resolution on the recognition of the Armenian Genocide, commending the great work and the path that had been achieved thanks to the effective work of the parliaments and embassies of the two countries.
He expressed the hope that in the future effective cooperation will remain at the same level.The Ambassador presented the current state of the Armenian-Czech bilateral relations, the priorities of the Armenian foreign policy, inter-parliamentary relations and clarified the position of the Republic of Armenia on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The ambassador also answered numerous questions from the deputies regarding the domestic political and economic situation in Armenia, commodity circulation between the countries, the export potential of the Republic of Armenia and the sphere of information technologies.The Armenian Ambassador also touched upon the process of ratification of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between the EU and Armenia, noting its importance for Armenia, expressing the hope that the ratification of the document will be accelerated by the Czech parliament.
