ArmInfo.Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan at a meeting with Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, Assistant Administrator of UNDP, and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, noted the important role of the quarter- century activity of the United Nations Development Program in Armenia.
As the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo, Mnatsakanyan confirmed the readiness of the Armenian side to take steps to strengthen and expand the partnership, for the benefit of nationalization and implementation of the Sustainable Development goals in Armenia.
Touching upon the internal political processes in Armenia and the reforms undertaken by the government on the basis of a broad mandate received from the people, the head of the foreign ministry stressed the importance of effective interaction with international partners, including UNDP.
The interlocutors set the agenda for the development of Armenia and the framework for cooperation with UNDP in the field of developing an economy based on information technology, innovation and creative education.
Mnatsakanyan spoke about the preparatory work for the 23rd International Information Technology Forum, which will be held in October in Yerevan.
At the end of the meeting, Mnatsakanyan was handed a letter on the appointment of Dmitry Mariyasin as a permanent representative of the UN Development Program in Armenia.
