ArmInfo.The visit of Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili to Armenia, which ended the day before, is nothing but a part of Tbilisi's policy of careful maneuvering  between Baku and Yerevan. Such an opinion was expressed by ArmInfo by  Russian analyst, expert on the Caucasus, Sergey Markedonov.

On March 12-13, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili visited  Armenia on a two-day official visit. In Yerevan, the Georgian  president met with his Armenian counterpart Armen Sargsyan and Prime  Minister Nikol Pashinyan. At the end of February, the President of  Georgia paid a similar visit to Azerbaijan.According to the analyst,  due to a number of internal and external factors, the statements and  behavior of the first persons of Georgia are traditionally  distinguished by balance and correctness. The main reason is the need  to balance Tbilisi between two conflicting neighboring countries.  Considering the recent February visit of the Georgian president to  Baku, the March visit of Zurabishvili to Yerevan, in Markedonov's  opinion, became just another manifestation of complementarity in  Georgian.

The analyst believes that in the presence of numerous ethnic  communities of Armenians and Azeris in Georgia in the regions of  Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kvemo-Kartli, citizens of Georgia of Armenian  origin, any departure of Tbilisi from such a policy can provoke  instability inside this multi-ethnic country."In this careful  maneuvering of Georgia, on the one hand, Tbilisi takes into account  significant economic ties, investments, communication projects with  Azerbaijan, and on the other, the need to maintain good, good  neighborly relations with its southern neighbor, Armenia, among other  things, a member country of the EEU, the CSTO and Russia's ally in  the region.
