ArmInfo. The terms of import of right-hand drive cars to Armenia are renewed again - until May 1, 2019.
The amendments to the law "On the ban on the import of right-hand drive cars" were approved at the February 21 meeting of the RA government.
Presenting the draft decision, Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of the Republic of Armenia Hakob Arshakyan said that vehicles purchased before December 30, 2018 are subject to import. For the remaining vehicles, this measure will not apply. It is envisaged that about 800 vehicles with right-hand drive, accumulated in the customs zone at the Bagratashen checkpoint, are to be brought into the country.
To note, that previously it was proposed to establish the final date to April 1 of this year. However, taking into account the limited time (the adoption of the document by the parliament and its enforcement), at the suggestion of the head of the State Revenue Committee Davit Ananyan, this period was postponed for another month.
As RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted, today's government decision on the right-hand drive car will be the last.
The bill in the prescribed manner will be submitted to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and will be considered among the urgent documents.
