ArmInfo.Azerbaijan calls on the leadership of Armenia not to aggravate the situation around the Karabakh conflict, but to facilitate the peace process, said Leila Abdullayeva, the head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
"Pashinyan should not aggravate the situation with his statements, but on the contrary, should create prerequisites for negotiations aimed at achieving a result in resolving the conflict, which is emphasized in the last statement of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs," Abdullayeva told Interfax-Azerbaijan.
She noted that accusations from the Armenian side for <aggressive rhetoric> Baku and attempts to change the format of the negotiation process are unacceptable for Azerbaijan. <On the one hand, he talks about the importance of creating peaceful conditions for resolving the conflict, on the other, trying to change the format of the negotiation process, trying to accuse Azerbaijan of <aggressive rhetoric>, allegedly, the country does not prepare the population for peace, but for war. The truth is that this is not about the "aggressive rhetoric" of Azerbaijan, but about aggressive actions of Armenia>, said Abdullayeva. She stated that so far the statements of the leadership of Armenia raise more questions than contribute to the creation of appropriate conditions for ensuring peace and development of the region. "The sooner the Armenian Prime Minister understands the benefits the conflict will bring to the region and specifically his country, the sooner he can realize the economic revolution promised to the people of Armenia," Abdullayeva added.
To note, yesterday, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated that Yerevan sees the settlement of the Karabakh conflict only by peaceful means, but this does not mean that Armenia should not be ready for war. Speaking about the preparation of nations for peace, Pashinyan said: "They say - to prepare nations for peace, not the people. Consequently, if in one country the government does not prepare its people for peace, then the government of another country cannot prepare its people for peace. We will act in proportion to the situation, " Prime Minister Pashinyan said. Meanwhile, the other day, the President of Azerbaijan at the congress of his party once again stated that the final goal of Azerbaijan is "the return of its "historical territories" - Erivan, Syunik and other areas".
