ArmInfo. The Armenian economy has the potential to grow through deepening relations within the EAEU. ArmInfo expressed a similar opinion to Aram Safaryan, head of the Integration and Development public organization.
"In this light, the initiative to create a standing commission to coordinate work with the EAEU in the National Assembly of Armenia of the 7th convocation can only be welcomed. Moreover, in my sincere conviction, this initiative is somewhat delayed because we are talking about the need to create such a body all these years." he stressed.
Earlier, Gevorg Gorgisyan, a member of the Bright Armenia parliamentary faction, told ArmInfo about the initiative of the parliamentary faction of the party to submit to the National Assembly a new convocation of a proposal to form a standing commission to coordinate work with the EAEU. As a goal of forming such a commission, the parliamentarian pointed to the periodic failure of Armenia's partners in the EAEU to implement clauses of agreements and whole agreements within the organization.
As an example, Safaryan pointed to the work in the two previous parliaments of the Commission for European Integration. According to his estimates, the new parliamentary body is needed in order to discuss the problems existing in the integration process within the EAEU, and create the necessary bases for their resolution. "In my opinion, this undertaking fully reflects the existing realities in Armenia's foreign policy. And the formation of such a commission will be an indicator of the degree of sincerity in the attitude and interest of the new authorities of the republic to Armenia's participation in Eurasian integration processes. I'm convinced that the voice and recommendations of this parliamentary body will not be heard only in Yerevan, but also in other capitals of the EEU member countries, "Safaryan concluded.
