ArmInfo. The extraordinary parliamentary elections held on December 9 became unprecedented, since after them there were no appeals to the Constitutional Court to appeal the results. The head of the CEC Tigran Mukuchyan stated this on January 10 in an interview with journalists. He noted that before appeals to the Constitutional Court seemed to be one of the stages of the electoral process.
"The fact that this time neither side challenged the legitimacy of the elections and did not intend to appeal against their results is a great achievement from the point of view of Armenian legislation, as well as from the point of view of forming a political culture in the country," Mukuchyan stressed. He noted that the assessments of voters, the public and political forces indicate a positive attitude and confidence in the results of these elections. The head of the CEC also noted that, taking into account the assessments of international organizations and observers, as well as taking into account the attitude of voters, it can be considered that this electoral process was consistent with the Electoral Code
