ArmInfo. If Armenia decides not leave the Eurasian Economic Union, we need to follow the implementation of all the provisions regulating its activities, MP from "Bright Armenia" parliamentary faction Gevorg Gorgisyan expressed such an opinion to ArmInfo.
"The problems constantly arising in this integration organization have long been no secret to anyone. In the parliament of the past convocation, we were forced to look for various platforms, used connections in various delegations and groups to somehow voice these issues. Today we came to a conclusion that there is a real need to form a structure whose direct responsibility will be the regulation of all issues related to the EAEU, "he said.
That is why, according to him, Bright Armenia parliamentary faction is preparing to submit to the National Assembly of the new convocation a proposal on the establishment of a standing commission to coordinate work with the EAEU. As a goal of setting up such a commission, the parliamentarian points to the periodic failure of Armenia's partners in the EAEU to implement clauses of agreements and whole agreements within the framework of the organization. There is also a need to bring a number of its provisions into line with Armenian legislation.
"In our parliament there is a rather successfully operating permanent commission on European integration. And we believe that the establishment of a similar Eurasian commission will only increase the degree of effectiveness of our work and cooperation with the EAEU," Gorgisyan concluded. Since its establishment, the Bright Armenia has initiated the withdrawal of Armenia from the EEU and the CSTO, considering this issue as the most important for Armenia. In September 2017, the Bright Armenia, as part of the Yelk parliamentary opposition faction (Exit), initiated a corresponding bill, which, however, was not adopted by the Republican majority.
