ArmInfo. Suspected of hooliganism and murder in Karaganda on the night of January 1, Armenian citizen Narek Gururyan was detained. This was announced by the Director of the Department of Internal and External Communications of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Almas Sadubaev, reports Tengrinews.kz.
"Today, members of the criminal police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, in cooperation with the law enforcement agencies of Russia, detained a citizen of the Republic of Armenia Narek Gururyan, suspected of committing hooligan actions and murder in Karaganda on the night of January 1 of this year," Sadubaev said. According to him, the issue of his extradition to Kazakhstan is currently being resolved.
Narek Gururyan born in 1997 was put on the international wanted list on January 3. His photograph was spread by law enforcement agencies. The Interior Ministry said that Gururian crossed the border with Russia on January 1 after 10:00pm. To recall, on the night of January 1 in the restaurant "Ancient Rome" in the city of Karaganda there was a fight. As a result of the incident, a 23-year-old resident was killed, three more were injured. The deadly brawl in Kazakhstan has become a fertile ground for inciting ethnic hatred and the spread of misinformation. Three Armenians were involved in it. According to the latest data, 7 people were detained on the fact of fighting and murder, five of them were arrested. One participant of the fight - Narek Gurguryan - ran away and is on the international wanted list. On suspicion of committing hooliganism and killing a 23-year-old man in Karaganda, eight people were detained and arrested, in addition to Gururyan. The investigation was taken under special control by the prosecutor of the region.
Earlier, a video message by Narek Grigoryan appeared in social networks, which expressed condolences to the relatives of the deceased, stated that he had not killed anyone and asked the authorities of Kazakhstan to provide him with adequate protection. The director of the department of internal and external communications of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Almas Sadubaev commented on the statement. "The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan guarantees an objective, comprehensive investigation of the case and recommends citizen Gururyan to voluntarily surrender to police officers in order to avoid aggravating circumstances," he said, reports Tengrinews.kz.
