ArmInfo.Armenia voted against the updated version of the Ukrainian resolution on Crimea. The representative of Ukraine at the UN, Vladimir Yelchenko, announced this in his Twitter.
The UN General Assembly adopted an updated version of the Ukrainian resolution on Crimea. "This is it. The strongest UN resolution on the situation of human rights in Crimea was the 3rd Committee of the General Assembly. 67 countries voted in favor, 26 opposed, and 82 countries abstained," Yelchenko wrote. The report of the representative office of Ukraine to the UN states that Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Bolivia, Burundi, Cambodia, China, Cuba, North Korea, Eritrea, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Serbia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and Zimbabwe opposed the resolution..
Azerbaijan and several other countries did not participate in the voting.
The resolution is called "The situation with human rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol". The document contains a number of requirements for Russia, including the confirmation of the inadmissibility of the "seizure of the territory of Crimea" and the obligation to return the "occupied territories". To recall, in November 2017, Armenia also voted against the resolution submitted by Ukraine, urging Russia to respect the rights of citizens living in the Crimea.
