ArmInfo. We still do not have a concrete decision regarding whether the Prosperous Armenia Party will participate in the early elections separately or as a bloc, but we are discussing this issue. On October 19, Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, MP from the Tsarukyan Bloc faction Mikael Melkumyan stated this in an interview with journalists.
Commenting on the rumors about the upcoming consolidation of the PAP with the Sasna Dzar party in the election bloc, Melkumyan said: "I have not heard anything about it."
The Vice Speaker positively assessed the chances of the PAP in the early elections. "I think that we have very good chances. Thinking this is based on the fact that we have been with the people for many years, we have had programs. In the end, we don't start from scratch," Melkumyan said.
Referring to the fact that in the elections to the Council of Elders, the PPA won only 7% of the votes, the vice-speaker said: "Elections to the Council of Elders were not ordinary political elections. Elections to the Yerevan mayor's office were more likely to state revolutionary achievements. put forward by political forces, little attention was paid, "Melkumyan said.
The Vice-Speaker also touched upon the draft amendments to the EC, positively assessing the document: "The main thing is that we are refusing the vicious rating system," concluded Melkumyan.
