ArmInfo. Today a two-day Forum of Scientists of the Commonwealth of Independent States kicked off its work in Yerevan.
According to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee, the forum is held with the support of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of CIS member states.
The main organizers of the scientific event are the National Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Armenia. The main goals of the forum are to activate and develop scientific and technical cooperation of the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, to give impetus to initiate joint research, to develop proposals for the development of innovative policies of the CIS member states, and to popularize science and scientific activity among the youth of the Commonwealth countries. It is assumed that the result of such a large-scale event of scientists of the CIS member states will be the development in the future of the processes of forming a common scientific and innovative space within the Commonwealth, improving the mechanisms of its functioning, developing recommendations for conducting a coherent and systematic work of responsible departments of the CIS countries in the field of science'', Executive Committee of the CIS informs.
According to the organizers, it is expected that the forum will contribute to the establishment of stable "horizontal" informal relations between socially active representatives of the scientific communities of the CIS countries, which will lead to an increase in the number of international scientific research, coordination of actions to solve the problems of young scientists in the Commonwealth space.
In addition to the plenary session, the forum provides for the holding of three roundtables on the topics: "The state and prospects for the development of fundamental science", ''Improving scientific collaboration in the digital age''; ''Innovative Research''. Following the events, a forum declaration will be adopted. As planned by the organizers, the forum should be an efficient platform for dialogue and long-term personal and business contacts between representatives of the scientific communities of the CIS countries, as well as for the formation of international scientific groups and teams for the implementation of high-tech research.
