ArmInfo. This year, the pre-election campaign of all political forces was quite vigorous, active, and I believe that this is correct. On October 10, Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan told this in an interview with reporters when asked how he intends to cooperate with representatives of the Prosperous Armenia Party, as there were very strained relations between them during the days of election campaign.
"All over the world, the election campaign is just that - emotional and tense. However, after the elections are over and the people express their will, we become one team. All members of our Council of Elders are a single team, and the goal of this team is to improve the lives of our residents in Yerevan, "the Mayor stressed.
Marutyan said that any interesting and good proposal put forward by representatives of the PAP or Luys factions will certainly be accepted and implemented.
The Mayor noted that he intends to personally listen to the opinions of the residents of Yerevan, including representatives of the Republican Party. "The opinion of everyone is important to us, including representatives of the Republican Party. I will say more, I really appreciate any criticism, since it is healthy criticism that points us to our mistakes and does not allow us to commit new ones ", - Marutyan stressed.
As for the fact of significant predominance in the Council of Elders of the representatives of the "My step" bloc, which has practically no opposition, Marutyan said that there are people in the faction who are non-partisan. "We have opposition inside the bloc. Each issue in the faction is discussed for a long time, and only then we make a decision. Thus, each issue is discussed even longer than if there were numerous opposition forces in the Council of Elders, "the mayor concluded.
To note "My Step" bloc, supported by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, received 57 mandates, the Prosperous Armenia Party received 5 mandates, the Luys bloc had 3 mandates. In accordance with the law, actor Hayk Marutyan, who heads the list of the "My Step" bloc, was elected mayor today.
