ArmInfo. The Police of Armenia were and remains at a high level and can protect both themselves and the citizens of Armenia, Chief of police Valery Osipyan told journalists on August 16, referring to the incident between LGBT activists and policemen.
"If the police showed tolerance to 1-2 citizens who, taking advantage of that, raided into the police department, this is not a reason for assumptions about the weakness of the police." The Armenian police have been and remains strong and able to protect both themselves and the citizens of Armenia'',Valery Osipyan stressed.
At the same time he urged not to doubt that anyone who dares to break into the police department will receive an adequate response. However, he noted that he sees no reason for carrying out an internal investigation into the incident.
To recall on August 14, the press service of the police spread a message according to which "men dressed in women's clothing and their supporters broke into the police station, two police officers were injured, one of whom was hospitalized."
