ArmInfo. From June 1, the transitional provisions of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the EU will enter into force. On this May 25 in the National Assembly of Armenia in a conversation with journalists, MP from the Republican Party Armen Ashotyan said.
The deputy noted that the transitional provisions, which constitute 80% of the document, will enter into force on June 1, and the remaining 20% after the EU member states have ratified this document.
"Political agreements are also included in this Agreement, in particular, some of them concern Artsakh, so that they come into force it is necessary that this document be ratified by all EU member states." I propose that the transitional provisions of the EU-Armenia Agreement, which will come into force on June 1, were fixed in the future program of the government so that it would correspond to the obligations we assumed upon signing the Agreement with the EU," Ashotyan said.
Asked whether the MP believes that the new government will not give the document the proper significance, Ashotyan said, we have no right to ignore those commitments to the European Union that we assumed. "The first of June is the deadline, if we do not fulfill our obligations on time, this behavior is unlikely to have a positive impact on the reforms that are taking place in our country. Such actions can be detrimental to the image of Armenia in the international arena, I expect specific actions," stressed the deputy.
