ArmInfo. The actions of the State Social Security Service of Armenia are aimed at identifying persons who simultaneously receive pensions both in the RA and in another CIS country. This was stated by the head of the department Hovhannes Sahakyan, commenting to ArmInfo information that pensioners are invited to the territorial offices of the Social Security Service with a view to depriving them of pension payments in case of the presence of dual citizenship.
According to the head of the SSSO, for today the department receives information from various state structures regarding the periods of absence of citizens from the RA. Further, the pensioner is invited to the territorial office, where the employee of the Service checks the presence of a foreign state stamp on the right to temporary or permanent residence in the passport of a citizen of the Republic of Armenia.
The addressees of this work are those who were absent from Armenia for more than 6 months, especially if they stayed in the Russian Federation or any other CIS country, since in these countries certain categories of citizens are granted the right to temporary / permanent residence on the basis of which , in the same Russia a citizen of the Republic of Armenia will receive a pension.
As Hovhannes Sahakyan reminded, back in 1992, the CIS countries signed an agreement in the social sphere ("Agreement on guarantees of the rights of citizens of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the field of pension provision" from 13.03.1992, Ed.), Which states that "when a pensioner is moved within the states party to the Agreement, the payment of a pension at the former place of residence shall be terminated if the pension of the same kind is provided for by the legislation of the state at the new place of residence of the pensioner." "Our task is to establish the fact of receiving a pension in another country and further grant the citizen the right to choose in which country the pensioner wants to receive a pension," he explained.
