Tbilisi. Georgian governmental delegation, led by Prime Minister, Irakli Gharibashvili, will leave for the USA on official visit, on February 22 - Georgian Premier reported at the government sitting on Thursday, February 20.
As Prime Minister said, high-level meetings will be held within the framework of the visit.
"This is the first high-rank visit to the United States for our government. The importance of the visit is extremely high. We will work and have meetings in various directions and it is one more proof that the relationship between the United States and us will deepen contributing to its expansion and advancement, - Irakli Gharibashvili stated.
The visit of Georgian governmental delegation to the United States of America will continue from February 22 to March 1.
Georgian governmental delegation also includes: Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia; Maia Panjikidze, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia; David Zalkaliani, Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia; Alexi Petriashvili, State Minister for the European and Euro-Atlantic Integration etc.
As Maia Panjikidze told journalists earlier, Premier Gharibashvili would visit the USA on the invitation of the U.S. Vice-President, Joseph Biden. Victoria Nuland, U.Sin December. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, brought this invitation. Negotiations concerning this visit have been underway since that time," Maia Panjikidze reported.
In her words, meetings in the U.S. State Department, Congress, Senate and the White House, will be held as part of the visit.
