Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan thinks that it is possible to remove the discrepancies between the European integration and the accession to the Customs Union.
"We have always considered the relations with the EU and the Customs Union to be two complementary directions. In the meantime, we think that it is the political processes, not the documents, that are complementary. The documents may have provisions running counter to each other. It is natural. But there are negotiations that aim to remove these discrepancies to the extent possible", Sargsyan said in Parliament on Wednesday.
He said that for the moment Armenia has taken a political decision to join the Customs Union and this means that Armenia cannot sign any other international agreement running counter to the document to be signed with the Customs Union.
The Prime Minister also pointed out that Armenia cannot and shouldn't develop strategic partnership with only one force center. "We seek to diversify our foreign policy. This stems from our country's interests. We have defined our own priorities in the foreign policy and our partners perfectly understand the logic of our actions. We were open to the talks with both the European Union and Russia. Our actions and our tasks are clear to them", said Sargsyan.
