Minister of Economy Vahram Avanesyan has refuted its Thursday statement talking to journalists, Friday. To recall, Vahram Avanesyan told journalists on 17 April that during the next meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Minsk on Apr 29, Armenia would sign an agreement to access the Customs Union.
"I state that Armenia is not expected to sign any agreements at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on 29 April in Minsk. The Council will be discussing the work carried out and the decision on Armenia's accession to the CU, particularly, the date of the accession and preparations of the relevant agreement. The agreement will be signed only after the negotiations for keeping unchanged the customs duties for "sensitive items" for Armenia are over. I admit the guilt for disseminating misinformation," the minister said.
On 3 February, the Government of Armenia published a 249-page road map for accession to the CU and the Common Economic Space with Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia that was approved yet on 23 January. The document consists of a program of 262 actions.
