Azerbaijani largely hinders normalization of the Armenia- Turkey relations, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said in an interview with "Pozner" TV program. He said the president of Azerbaijan has repeatedly accepted his policy of isolating Armenia, with Turks being Azerbaijan's key accessory in it.
Asked why Armenia doesn't recognize the Nagorny Karabakh Republic, Sargsyan said: "To recognize the NKR means to refuse from the peace talks. The probability that military actions will resume will grow unless there are peace talks. Meanwhile, Armenia remains committed to the peaceful settlement of the conflict," Serzh Sargsyan said.
At the same time, he said, Armenia cannot recognize Kosovo, Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Otherwise, it will be hard to explain the Karabakh people why Yerevan does not recognize the NKR. In response to the TV host Vladimir Pozner's question if he hopes to see a final peace, Sargsyan said: "I am sure the parties will arrive at a solution that will rule out resumption of the military actions."
