"I suppose a certain step towards Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will be made during the Oct 10 meeting of the EAEU founding countries", Ashot Manucharyan, ex-Advisor to the first president of Armenia for national security, member of Karabakh Committee, said at a press conference on Monday.
In the meantime, the analyst failed to give any details of the agreement to be signed. Manucharyan is convinced that any integration project has positive and negative aspects. Meanwhile, he thinks that there are no obstacles to Armenia's integration into the EAEU.
"In fact, no Karabakh problem was raised in the process of Armenia's integration into the EAEU. This problem was artificially exaggerated by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. It is not surprising, because Nazarbayev is a carrier of Anglo-Saxon values", the analyst said. He is sure that the Artsakh problem will not be touched on any more, because Russia has openly threatened Kazakhstan.
As regards the West's sanctions against Russia, Manucharyan said that these measures will do good to Moscow. "As a result of the sanctions, the Russian oligarchs have to take their money from the offshore and refuse the Western influence. It is no secret that the major part of the Russian "elite" is the henchmen of the West. The current confrontation will help get rid of the pernicious influence of the West and recover the Russian society", said Manucharyan.
