The European Choice action group has adopted a statement on the occasion of the singing of association agreements between the EU and Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia
The group welcomes this step and regards it as a move towards sovereignty and a pledge of security and stability in the greater part of the post-Soviet area.
The group regrets that Armenia has missed its chance to be part of this process and has switched from Europe towards the Eurasian Union.
"This step by Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia will become a new stimulus for democracy and modernization in those countries and a good experience and a bridge for other Eastern partners, including Armenia. Being a social-political institution, the European Choice is ready to develop ties with its counterparts in Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia and to foster Armenia's relations with the European Union," says the group.
It hopes that Armenia will come back to the association agreement one day and will reconfirm its commitment to be part of the European values.
The statement has been signed by heads of different NGOs – Gayane Arustamyan, Hakob Badalyan, Levon Barseghyan, Nazeni Gharibyan, Aghasi Yenokyan, Boris Navasardyan, Zaruhi Hovhannisyan, Artur Sakunts and Anna Shahnazaryan.
