Leila Yunus, Director of the Baku-based Institute for Peace and Democracy, was delivered to the Investigation Department for Serious Crimes at the Prosecutor General's Office, Yusif Agayev, representative of the spouses Yunus told Turan.
Turan reports that the head of the investigation at the Attorney General, Ibrahim Lemberansky denied Agayev's involvement in the investigation, stating that only a lawyer can do this. This suggests that Leila Yunus is going to face an indictment.
At the same time, he did not rule out that today's detention of Yunus is a compulsory action due to her refusal to testify.
Meanwhile, the husband of Leila Yunus, Arif Yunus told Turan that due to the blocking of their apartment and the police intention to break down the door, he decided to "give up" and go with his lawyer to the Attorney General to testify. "In all likelihood, we will be arrested," Yunus said to Turan's correspondent by telephone.
